Joyce Maureen Flathers

FLATHERS Joyce (Harrison) Joyce Maureen Flathers, age 75, of Delta, Ohio, beloved mother, sister, grandmother and friend, passed away Friday morning, July 18, 2008. She was born January 7, 1933, in Menomonie, Wisconsin to George and Mary (Heitkamp) Harrison. On September 20, 1951, she married Merlin Flathers, and he preceded her in death on June 11, 1998. Joyce worked at Markey Bronze for 15 years and was a licensed real estate agent for Stine Realty in Delta for over 20 years. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Swanton and was an avid Bingo player. She is survived by her children, Elaine Flathers, Teresa Flathers, Brenda Flathers, David Flathers, Thomas Flathers and Tamara Flathers; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson. Also surviving is her brother, Don (Lula Mae) Harrison; sister, Joan Schott and many friends. Besides her husband, Merlin, she was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Russell and James and grandson, James Sustaita. Friends and family may visit Sunday, July 20th from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday, July 21st from 2 to 8 p.m. at Weigel Funeral Home, 204 Chestnut St. in Swanton. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 22nd at 11:00 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, 200 Dodge St. in Swanton with Rev. Brian Haller officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery.
