Joyce McLain Obituary

Joyce Ann McLain

Joyce Ann McLain, age 78, of Toledo, died August 1, 2017 at Kingston of Perrysburg. She was born November 24, 1938 in Toledo to the late Daniel and Stella (Jankowski) Bugaj. She graduated from Whitney Vocational School in 1956. Joyce earned an LPN degree from Riverside School of Practical Nursing in 1958. She married Francis A. Espinoza in 1959 and he passed away on April 14, 1981. Joyce later married Robert E. McLain, D.O. in August of 1983 who also preceded her in death on May 31, 1997.

In her free time, Joyce enjoyed crocheting, trips to the casino, cooking and even wrote a cookbook for healthy living. She loved her furry companions including Itsy Bitsy, Cutie Pie and Patti Cake. Joyce will be remembered for being strong-willed but with a heart of gold.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Nicholas G. Espinoza (Carole), Melanie A. Glenn (Doug) and D'Arcy A. Regan (John); grandchildren, Valerie and Jacqueline Espinoza, Crystal and Eric Glenn, Steven and Danielle Regan; siblings, Roger Bugaj (Christine), Constance Labuzinski (Raymond) and Lori Gasser (Michael); and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Friday from 3-8 p.m. in the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd.) where funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, August 5, 2017 with Father Dave Nuss presiding. Interment will be private.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

My sincere condolences to Nick, Darcy and Melanie. I have such fond memories of working with your mom at Parkview. She was always so full of energy and good humor. She was also a GREAT NURSE. Peace to all of you

I am so very sorry for your loss. There is nothing like losing a mother. It can be so disconcerting and make one feel that you've lost your connection to the world. May you find comfort in knowing that you're not alone. Cherish the memories and lessons that come to mind. Hopefully one day, you'll hear the voice of your Mom in your head and smile. In the meantime may the God who "binds up the broken-hearted" and "comforts all who mourn" sustain you through this very difficult time.
