Julianne Rice Obituary

RICE Julianne M. Julianne M. Rice, age 55, of Toledo, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, May 5, 2009, at St. Anne Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born October 8, 1953, to Julian and Erma (Merrill) Phelan in Toledo. Julianne was a medical assistant for many years. She loved flowers and gardening and enjoyed her many indoor plants as well. Julianne also loved animals. She was a loving wife, step-mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her brother, Michael Phelan and canine companion, Montana. Julianne is survived by her loving husband of almost 20 years, Harry Rice Jr.; his children, Tiffany Lee and Marisa Lynn Rice; granddaughter, Hanna Wade; mother, Erma Hughes; sisters, Kathleen (David) Thatcher, Cynthia (Mike) Soncrant and Lori (Pete) Logsdon and many other family members and dear friends. The family will receive guests on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300) where Funeral Services will begin at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make monetary donations are asked to consider the Toledo Humane Society.
