Kathy FREDRICKS Obituary

FREDERICKS Kathy Kathy passed away suddenly Monday February 21, 2011. Kathy was creator and publisher of the HOA Newsletter, a Tallahassee, FL, based magazine and also worked as Office Manager and Bookkeeper for the Golden Eagle Homeowners Association. Kathy was born in Toledo, OH on August 29, 1961. She moved with her family to Atlanta, GA, as a young girl and claimed Georgia and the south as her true home. She was devoted to UGA Football and a loyal Braves fan. Kathy enjoyed a varied career working as a fashion model, a Realtor and as a corporate treasurer. With her husband she maintained a long term business association with the Olympic Games which enabled her to live and work in the United States, Australia, New Zealand and Europe. She became an avid trader and collector of Olympic pins and badges. Kathy was a lifelong personal fitness advocate and was known to wear out a StairMaster, she enjoyed endurance hiking and strove to work out every day. Kathy will be remembered for her quirky humor, infectious laughter and stunning beauty. She made friends wherever she went. If you were one of the lucky and she crossed your path, please have some Tom Yum Soup, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, TimTams or waffles; remember her and recall an outlandish thing she said, a funny story she told or extravagant entrance she made and then share that story with someone who had the misfortune not to have known her. Kathy is survived by her husband, Douglas; mother, Linda VanLieu; sisters, Karen Julian and Evie DeTray; brothers, Mike DeTray, Raymond DeTray, Howie DeTray; step daughter, Sharon; extended families and Syd and Luci.
