Kevin McCormick Obituary
2/6/1957 - 7/29/2023
Kevin McCormick, age 66, of Fremont, WI, passed away July 29, 2023. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio to Tom and Jettie Lee (Pierce) McCormick. Kevin developed an interest in music at a very early age, and played with his brother and father in a number of family bands. He graduated from the University of Toledo where he played on the tennis team. He earned a Masters Degree in Statistics from Miami University of Ohio. When asked how much of what he learned there he actually used he said, "everything and more." Kevin worked at The Department of Energy, Uranium enrichment plant K25 in Oak Ridge, Tennessee before spending the next 30 years at Kimberly Clark, where he developed a computer program to run their production machines more efficiently. He published his book called "EWMA (Exponentially Weighted Moving Averages)" which led to him signing autographs during an unforgettable business trip to England. As a hobby, he reportedly came up with a new way to derive Einstein's E=mc2 equation.
He impacted numerous projects while working, but more importantly, educated and impacted the lives of those he worked with. Kevin always made time to help others learn and advance their thinking regardless of the topic. A consummate teacher, mentor and friend to many - he will be missed. He loved philosophy, mathematics, stimulating intelligent conversations, the Cleveland Browns, music and so much more. He would do anything for his friends and loved fiercely. He made everyone who knew him laugh, cry and clap at all the stories he shared. Kevin is survived by his loving wife, Jeanne'; daughter, Laura Lokken; two nephews; a niece; and two brothers, Tim McCormick (Mark Detelich) and Randy McCormick (Mary Beth) of Ohio. Never to be forgotten!
