Kurt K. Zimmerman, died peacefully on Thursday, February 18, 2016, in Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo at the age of 77. He was born in Bluffton, Ohio on July 5, 1938, to David D. and Mary Frances (Spicer) Zimmerman. He graduated from Shawnee High School in 1956 and Bowling Green State University in 1960. He received his master's in Business Administration from the university in 1968. While there, he was a member of the Delta Tau Delta fraternity and served as president his senior year.
He had been employed by Ashland Oil Co., Bowling Green State University, Ford Motor Co., and Eastern Kentucky University, where he received the distinguished title of Kentucky Colonel. He was also employed by the University of Toledo, retiring in 1998, as Placement Director. In retirement, he continued working at Ryan Pharmacy for 18 years.
His memberships included the Toledo Credit Union, where he was a past treasurer, past board member of the Metroparks Toledo and The University Church of Toledo.
Kurt was preceded in death by his father; mother; stepfather, Nolan Core, and his wife of 19 years, Madeline (Crowley) Zimmerman.
Surviving are his sister, Janelle Jane (Zimmerman) Stokes; stepbrothers, Dr. Nolan G. Core, Dr. Ronald J. Core and Dennis Core; stepsons, Alex and Charles Vizi; 3 grandsons; 2 granddaughters; and special friend, Nadine Taylor. His daughters, Zan Dalee Glover and Gail Ditz and their mother, Georgia, also survive.
Visitation will be held at the Foth-Dorfmeyer Mortuary, 3815 Sylvania Ave. (at Woodley Rd.) on Sunday from 2-5 p.m. where funeral services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. Interment Toledo Memorial Park.
