Lawrence "Larry" Kaufman, 79, of Ft. Myers, FL, went to be with his Lord and Savior on January 28, 2023. Born March 11, 1943, in Toledo, OH, he was the first son of Lawrence and Carma Kaufman.

Survivors include his loving wife of 44 years, Dawn (Leininger) Kaufman; children, Kelley (Mark) Carrell of St. George Island, FL, Audrey (Floyd) Studebaker of Colorado Springs, CO, Shawn (Heather) Kaufman and Ted (Brenda) Kaufman both of Waterville, OH. He is also survived by siblings, Ruth (John) Knitz and Charles (Karen) Kaufman of Traverse City, MI, Rita Kaufman and Robert (Janise) Kaufman of Perrysburg, OH; 8 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.

Larry was a graduate of St. Francis High School and had a degree in business and finance. His whole career was spent in various positions of the family business ending as Chairman of the Board and CFO of Kaufman Engineered Systems, Waterville, OH, until 2005 when he retired to Lake Tillery, NC. In 2016, with health problems, Larry and Dawn moved to Shell Point Retirement Community, Ft. Myers, FL, where he enjoyed life fully until recently.

Larry loved outdoor activities including golf, fishing, bicycling, water skiing, boating, rowing as well as exercise, building houses and world travel. No matter what he enjoyed he was very competitive. Larry belonged to several business clubs over his career. He was a member of Westgate Chapel in Toledo and Albemarle Baptist in NC and went on mission with NC Baptist Men. Presently he was a member of The Village Church and supported mission projects.
