Leon McDaniel Obituary
Leon E. McDaniel, 75, of Montpelier, OH, passed away on Wednesday, December 15, 2021, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio Toledo Center. He was born on November 7, 1946, in Cabin Creek, WV, to Robert and Grace McDaniel. Leon worked as a paint specialist for Chrysler Jeep, retiring after 40 years of service. Leon was a builder and could make just about anything. He loved building hot rods, pocket knives, and yard ornaments. Leon also enjoyed growing flowers and spending time with his family, especially the grandkids. He will be dearly missed.
Leon is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Sue; daughter, Gail (Steve) McDaniel-Sanders; grandchildren, Tyler, Grace, and Kiah; sister, Carol (Chris) Dewey of Astoria, OR; special friends, Ron and Debbie Achinger; and his dog, Buddy. He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Robert, James, and Sue.
A memorial gathering will be held at the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd, in Oregon on Tuesday, December 28, 2021, from 2-5:00 p.m. where a memorial service will take place at 5:00 p.m. Please dress casual and bring your stories.
