Leona Epperson Obituary
Leona R. (Payne)
Leona R. (Payne) Epperson, 82, of Toledo, OH died September 20, 2013, in North Ft. Myers, Florida. Born May 20, 1931, in Bimble, KY, she was the daughter of James Albert and Lillian (Baker) Payne. She married Joseph J. Epperson on August 14, 1946. He preceded her in death on January 18, 2011. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church for over 50 years, where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir.
Surviving are his loving daughters, Altareida (Ronald) Ransom of Temperance, MI, Jody (Chuck) Thatcher of Erie, MI, and Yvonna Saam of Ft. Myers, FL; 6 grandchildren, Tracy Mathis, April Taube, Kelly Butler, Angie Fortier, Zackary Mitchell, and Alisha King; great-grandchildren, Dustin, McKenna, Autumn, Dillon, Lillian, and Brady; sister, Geneva Rush of
London, KY. She was also preceded in death by her brother, James Payne, and sister, Louise Alexander.
Memorial services will be Friday, November 8, 2013, at 11 a.m. in Liberty Baptist Church, 5501 Jackman Rd., Toledo, OH. Pastor Rick Rust, officiating.

Remembering Mrs. Epperson sitting in the back of the children's Sunday school classes helping out. She was a sweet, soft spoken, lovely lady and it was a blessing knowing her and her husband.

I Remember meeting this Beautiful Lady many,many years ago when Yvonna and i were just teenagers. This sticks in my mind because i still remember thinking, wow..she has a really nice Mom and how Lucky Vonnie was. Obviously a Beautiful lady inside and out who left that impression on many.
