Leone E. "Ony" Dussel

Leone E. Dussel, age 92 of Maumee, died September 10, 2005, in Lutheran Village at Wolf Creek. Ony was born June 6, 1913, to Harry and Mary (Emmel) Frankforther. She served in the United States Army during WW II. Ony was employed as a buyer for Toledo Jeweler's Supply Co. for 30 years. She was a member of the Business and Professional Women's Association. She married Clifford B. Dussel on February 15, 1975. He preceded her in death. Ony was a world traveler, enjoyed her winters in Florida, and was an avid Detroit sports fan. She was a former member of Maumee Methodist Church, a founding member of the Bible Education Club and was a Bible School Teacher. She was a current member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, where she had served on the church Altar Guild. Ony's greatest pride and joy was her family, especially her nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
She is survived by her stepdaughter, Terry Dussel Pratt; stepson, Tom (Sherry) Dussel; sister, Eleda Steva, and grandchildren, Corey and Tom Dussel, Tracey and Bobby Pratt. Also surviving are nieces and nephews, Enid (Ted) Thompson, Pat Herrit, Frank (Jann) Glann, Karen (Gordon) Brown, Cliff (Joan Nelson) Conrad, Kay Schaffer (Irwin Horowitz), Peggy (John) Zachman, Sue (Randy) Harms, and Rick (Karen) Conrad and sisters-in-law, Hazel Dussel and Marge Bremer. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother and sisters, Arline Glann, Kenneth Frankforther, Ruby Conrad and Carol Dussel.
Private family services will be held, with interment in Riverside Cemetery, Maumee. Those wishing to make a memorial contribution in her name are asked to consider St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Maumee Rotary Service Foundation, or the Hurricane Katrina relief fund of the donor's choice.
