To the family of Lucille Kearney Boyd:
My deepest condolences to you. May it provide some measure of comfort to know there are many with fond memories of spending time with your loved one. During visits to Toledo with James Wilson, I had the opportunity to hear about the florist's shop, especially about the busy time around Mother's Day and how everyone had a role to play. May her hands find peace and may the scent of flowers be ever present.

I remember when I was a little girl, and you and Uncle James visited me. We had so much fun I cried when you had to leave. Then I saw you at Felix's wedding, you gave me a bouquet of flowers, (which I still have) you sat me on your lap and we sang songs. We had so much fun. I will always cherish those memories.
Aunt Lucille:
Flowers will bloom, Flowers will die, but you'll be the one
who'll bloom the sky.
..And the Lord said:
"It's time to go home Lucille, to a better place.
St. Peter met you at the gate, and said, "You fought a good fight, You ran a great race.
And when you entered through the Gate, God signaled you to come,
He smiled at you and touched your hand and said,
..."Well done, Good and Faithful servant...Well Done".
I love you always,
Your Great Niece,
Virgle Mayes Lowe

To the Family of Mrs. Boyd, May the spirit of the Lord be with you in this time of sorrow. I will always have fond memories of Mrs. Boyd. When I was in high school, she always made sure I had a nice boutonniere for myself, and a beautiful corsage for my date. My grandmother, the late Rosa Lee Jordan, always insisted that I get my flowers from her dear friend, Mrs. Boyd. Our prayers are with you now and always.

"Do not let your hearts be troubled, Have faith in God and faith in me. In my Father's house there are many dwelling places; otherwise, how could I have told you that I was going to prepare a place for you? I am indeed going to prepare a place for you..." John 14:1-3

The Angels came to you last week and took you by the hand,
they said it's time to go with them, to a place called, 'The Promised Land'.
No longer will you feel the pain, the suffering or the sorrow,
for this day and for always, no more worries about tomorrow.
The Angels took you through the light,
with rainbow colors, oh so bright.
You saw your friends, your saw your family, and some people you've never known,
St. Peter greeted you with open arms and said, "LUCILLE, WELCOME HOME".
Aunt Lucille...
I love you and I will miss you.
....'til we meet again'.
Your Niece,
Bobbie Ann Johann-Pratt

I was sad to learn of the passing of Mrs. Boyd. She was a gracious lady who treated all of us in her community with the utmost respect. I grew up in the 600 block of Indiana and many times used Boyd's Florist for all my special occasions, and not once can I remember her being cross or angry. We need to all learn from her legacy of repect, generosity and her entrepreneurial spirit. To the Boyd family, as the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life’s routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends.
