Marjorie Flack Obituary
Marjorie Jean (Tredway)
Marjorie Jean Flack, age 93 and lifelong resident of Metamora, Ohio, passed away peacefully, Tuesday afternoon, February 2, 2016, at her winter Florida home in Palmetto, with her loving family at her side. She was born May 12, 1922, in Metamora to the late Hartwin H. and Elsie (Garnsey) Tredway. Marjorie was a WWII United States Marine Corps Women's Reserve Veteran and served as a Corporal. On July 8, 1944, she married her beloved husband, George E. Flack, and worked alongside him as his secretary at his insurance company until their retirement.
Marjorie was a member of the Berkey Congregational Christian Church, Lyons VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post #7574, Wauseon American Legion Post #265, and the Order of the Eastern Star-Fulton County Chapter #67.
Marjorie will be greatly missed by her loving husband of 71 years, George; daughters, Carole (Rick) Brown and Beverly Lung; grandchildren, Deb Dickson, Curt Schroeder, Cindy Maurer, Dustin DeWitt and Clarke DeWitt; as well as her 9 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Saturday, February 13th from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home in Metamora (419.644.3601). Funeral services will be held Sunday, February 14th at 2 p.m. at the Berkey Congregational Christian Church. Interment, with Military Rites, will follow the service at Amboy Township Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Marjorie's memory may be made to the VFW National Home for Children, 3573 S. Waverly Road, Eaton Rapids, MI 48827 or the Berkey Congregational Christian Church, 12036 Sylvania-Metamora Rd., Berkey, OH 43504.
