Mark Keel Obituary

KEEL
Mark A.

Mark A. Keel, 60, of Toledo, OH passed away Thursday, December 15, 2016, at Toledo Hospital after a brief illness. He was born November 27, 1956, to Kenneth and Mary (Hungate) Keel.
Mark was employed as a clerk for the Ohio Turnpike for over 28 years and was planning to retire this week.
He was a member of the teamster's and NRA. Mark enjoyed golfing, fishing, camping, cheering on his favorite football team Chicago Bears, and raising his tropical fish with multiple aquariums. He was an avid card player with poker and euchre being his games of choice, big Dungeons & Dragons computer game enthusiast, and loved to cook, read, and tend to his indoor and outdoor plants. Most of all, Mark was a proud family man who dearly loved his three sons and playing with his granddaughter.
He is survived by his loving family, sons, Nicholas, Kelly (Savannah Tillman), and Andrew (Kelli) Keel; granddaughter, Laila Keel; former spouse, Kim Keel; sisters, Lisa (Keith) Schmidt and Kris (James) Keel.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call at the Reeb Funeral Home, 5712 N. Main St., Sylvania, OH, Wednesday, December 21, from 3 until 7 p.m. where services will follow at 7 p.m.

Mark and I grew up together on Melvin Drive in Toledo and had more adventures together than you could imagine, some of which we were lucky to survive. He was also the best euchre partner I ever had, and our double-deck games with Kim and another friend were legendary. Then there were our Friday night poker games with the boys that were simply the best. Although I didn't see Mark much after I left Toledo, I'll never forget all the great times we had. Rest in peace my friend.
