Mary Chaffee Obituary
June 3, 1932 - September 20, 2024
Mary Ann (Kuchera) Chaffee, aged 92, of Saint Paul, MN, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2024, at the residence of her son, Kip Chaffee, in Saint Louis Park, MN. Born on June 3, 1932, in Breckenridge, MN, she was the daughter of the late John and Anna (Lillestol) Kuchera.
On June 8, 1957, she married Orison Young (Orr) Chaffee, Jr. at Saint John's Catholic Church in Wahpeton, ND. The couple moved to Toledo, Ohio, in 1967, where they raised their four children.
Mary will be deeply missed by Orr, her husband of 67 years; her children, Kip (Cassandra) Chaffee , Kate Chaffee (Peter Lennington), Amy (Mark) Hatfield, and Maggi Chaffee (Matt Cammack); and her beloved grandchildren.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, September 27, 2024, at The Church of Saint Mark, 2001 Dayton Avenue, Saint Paul, MN, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Bradshaw Funeral Home, located at 3131 Minnehaha Avenue South, Minneapolis, MN, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Dear Chaffee family, Jack and I always called Mary (and Orr) our friends. Mary´s smile and her warm, gentle manner brought a peace wherever she was. Though we haven´t seen her or Orr for many years, I feel such an emptiness knowing that lovely, grace-filled friend is no longer with us. She brought such a steadiness to her friends. I know she rests in peace.

Very sad to hear about our good friend Mary. She and Ora were always supportive and kind. She will always be remembered as a member of the eats club and our hostess when we visited St Paul.

Maggie, I am so saddened to hear about your mom. I understand, my mother passed away in November. Your mom was amazing! She was kind, intelligent, funny and I loved going to her class. My heart is with you.
