Mary FOX Obituary

FOX Mary Louise Mary Louise Fox, age 85, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Monday, January 18, 2010. She spent the last five years in the loving care of her son, Charlie, and his wife, Denise. She was born on September 7, 1924, to Albert Vincent and Louise Mary Gleespen. Mary attended St. Theresa's Grade School and was a 1942 graduate of Central Catholic High School. After graduation she was employed by Hickok Oil as a comp operator, and in the early years of their marriage, she and her late husband, Charles, owned and ran a small neighborhood grocery store. Mary and Charles spent many enjoyable years with their family and friends at their cottage on Devil's Lake and a family-owned cabin in Grayling Michigan. Mary was very much a people person and looked forward to her monthly get-togethers with the ladies of her lunch bunch group and her high school alumni luncheons. She also enjoyed very close and cherished relationships with her sister, Alice Durham, and sister-in-law, Jane Nachtrab. She was a very selfless woman, which was exemplified by her 30 plus years as a St. Luke's Hospital Volunteer. She truly enjoyed her role as a volunteer and took great pride in having accumulated over 13,000 hours during her years of service. Surviving are her sons, Michael (Yvonne) Fox and Charles (Denise) Fox; daughter, Patricia (Michael) Wagener; daughter-in-law, Angie Fox; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Alice (Dan) Durham; sister-in-law, Jane (Bill) Nachtrab, and brothers-in-law, Fred and Richard Fox. She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Charles Fox; son, Kenton Fox, and brother, William Gleespen. Friends may visit at the Coyle Funeral Home, 1770 S Reynolds Rd; on Thursday, January 21, 2010 from 2-8 p.m. with scripture services to be held at 7 p.m. Funeral services will begin in the mortuary on Friday, January 22, 2010 at 9:30 a.m. followed by the funeral mass at St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Church at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Maumee. The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, especially for the tender care given to mom by Jessica and Jane. They also wish to thank Paul's Peers Respite Care in Maumee, Ohio. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to these organizations. Mike, Charles and Patty,
What moves through you is a silence, a quiet sadness, a longing for one more day, one more word, one more touch, you may not understand why your mother left this earth, or why she left before you were ready to say good-bye, but little by little, you begin to remember not just that she died, but that she lived. And that her life gave you memories too beautiful to forget.

Your Prayers are with you.
