Maxine GILLESPIE Obituary

GILLESPIE Maxine M. Our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Maxine M. Gillespie, age 84, passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2012, at Elizabeth Scott Care Center. The daughter of Joseph and Clara Pelton, she was born May 24, 1928 in Toledo. Maxine was a member of Reformation Lutheran Church where she was active in the Altar Guild and funeral committee. She was also a member of the Wernerts Corner PTA, mother's club and loved to travel with her late husband, William. Maxine's greatest joy was her family whom she loved very deeply. She is survived by her daughters, Linda Gillespie, Diane (Dana) Sloan; grandchildren, Andrea (Jeff) Heyer-Jones, Charles (Amanda) Tuner, Jason (Desiree) BeDour, Jessica Sloan, Matthew Sloan; great-grandchildren, Alex, Abbi, Sidney, Samantha, Brittany, Nicholas, Madalynn, and Jacob. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William; brother, Joseph, and sister, Eileen. The family would especially like to thank the level 3 nurses and aides at Elizabeth Scott Care Center for all of their wonderful care. Friends may visit the family on Friday from 2-9 p.m. at the Walker Funeral Home 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd.) Funeral services and interment will be private. I'm so sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers go out to your family. Mrs. Gillespie was my Sunday School teacher and then she and her husband kept our church spic and span for yrs. They both have a special place in my heart and now together with God! Love and Prayers!
