Michael Asman Obituary

ASMAN

Michael K.

Michael K. Asman, 65, of Martin, Ohio passed away peacefully in his home on Wednesday, August 19, 2015. Mike was born in Toledo, Ohio on February 24, 1950, to Elmer and Dorothy (Hitchens) Asman. Mike was the owner of Mike Asman Masonry since 1980 and the company is currently run by his two sons, Eric and Curt Asman. The business was originally started by his father-in-law, Howard H. Fleitz back in 1973 and they were the best of friends. Mike was like a son to Howard.

Mike will always be remembered for his ability to make each and every person feel special, his acts of kindness, and his sense of humor and love of telling a good joke. When Mike graduated from high school he earned his pilot's license. For many years he flew an ultra light right out of his back yard with all his good buddies. Now he soars with God.

Surviving is his wife of 43 years, Karen; children, Eric (Heather), Curtis (Alice), Kristen (Grant) Sharpe; grandchildren, Curtis Asman Jr., Joellie, Brayden, Taylor, Ty Howard Asman, Braelyn, Sayla Grace and Alexis Sharpe; brother, Denny (Peggy) Asman; sister, Robin (Gary) Smith. Mike was preceded in death by his parents and infant grandson, Kellen Lucas Sharpe.

Visitation will be held at Eggleston Meinert & Pavely Funeral Home, Millbury Chapel, 1111 Woodville Road, Millbury on Friday from 12:00 noon until 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. On Saturday at 10:30 a.m., a funeral procession from the funeral home will proceed to Calvary Lutheran Church, 1930 Bradner Road, Northwood, Ohio, for funeral services at 11:00 a.m. Inurnment will be at a later date in Restlawn Memorial Park. Thanks to all for your kind words. Mike will be greatly missed. I loved his laughter, too. He was my best friend; I always asked him to keep this bubble level. We don't know what we'll do without him. I'll look forward to being together with him once again. Love, love that man!

Mike was a great gut, talented in his trade and always a family man. His picture shows that he lived life to the fullest. He was playing church softball when I first started playing. Keep all of the great memories close to your heart and he will live on forever in all of you. God Bless all of you.

This picture is worth a thousand words!! It reflects his personality perfectly! I knew of Mike as my brother Mike (Weidner) worked for him, but later got to know Mike when I worked for Pub 51 as a bartender filling in a few days a week on day shift. He was one of the regulars I looked forward to seeing. He was always a pleasure when he made his brief stops to the local watering holes! He and Curt came a few months ago to my Fathers viewing. Who would've known that he would be going to visit my Father again, so soon! I'm sure they are reminiscing and are toasting each other in their new waterin hole in the sky! So sad to hear of his passing. Find comfort in knowing he no longer suffers from that awful disease which seems to be taking so many of our loved ones! Prayers for all of you during this time.
