Monte Ferguson Obituary
June 28, 1962 - April 28, 2023
Monte William Ferguson was born April 28th 1962 and passed peacefully in his sleep April 28th 2023. Monte was a kind, gentle and loving soul, with a great sense of humor, and was beyond witty and smart! He was a big man with a wonderful laugh and smile. He graduated from Ravenna High School and played trombone in marching band. He continued to play all his life with a passion for electronic music. He was also in the recording group Speed & Intensity with his closest friend Marc "Ficus" King who knew him for over forty years.
Monte was an early employee at Progressive Insurance and he continued to work in the IT field until he passed, writing software and maintaining databases. Monte formed the Young Adults Breakfast Club (a gaming group) at Kent State in the 1980s where he and his friends played Dungeons & Dragons. He enjoyed music, movies, electronics, space travel, good food, the Cleveland Browns and he also loved his cats.
Preceded in death by his parents, Patricia Ann Ferguson, Donald John Ferguson; Aunt Carol and Uncle Bob Davidson. Survived by sister, Heather Brackenrich (Steve); stepmother, Charlotte Ferguson; stepsisters, Eila Pierce, Betty Smith; stepbrother, Chalky Albertson; cousins, Mathew Monroe, (Kathleen) (better known as Swiss Miss) Rich and Adina Davidson. He had too many nieces, nephews and cousins to list. His ashes will be buried in Maple Grove Cemetery.
His family will have a celebration of life on a later date to be provided. Instead of flowers please donate to the Humane Society of Summit County. He is very dearly missed!
