Mukta Ullal Obituary
Mukta Ullal, age 98, passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at home in her sleep. She was born on September 22, 1925, in India. Mukta was a longtime resident of Toledo, OH, where in the 80's she enjoyed volunteering at Mercy Hospital for many years. She was outgoing and liked to try new adventures. In her 50's she took swim lessons, becoming #1 in her swim class. Mukta was very musically inclined and loved to sing. She even took Indian classical music lessons in her 50's and 60's.
She was also a member of the PPSEWA where she was able to travel to Australia. While in Australia, Mukta tried snorkeling, parasailing and tested out her new swimming talents. Mukta was sharp as a tack and had the best sense of humor. She loved spending time with her family and friends. Mukta's smile, spirit and caring nature will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Sumitra Ullal; and 5 siblings. Left to cherish Mukta's memory are her loving daughter, Kiron (Pratap) Torsekar; grandsons, Nikhil (Shelly) and Mihir (Haley) Torsekar; great-grandchildren, Aliya, Shaun, Evan and Ryan; many nieces, and dear friends in Toledo and India.
There will be no visitation for Mukta and services will be private. Newcomer Funeral Home – West Sylvania Chapel (419-392-9500) assisted the family with professional services.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider the Battered Women's Shelter/The Sparrow's Nest or Connecting Kids to Meals (https://connectingkidstomeals.org/).
