Nora Lebens Obituary

LEBENS Nora M. Nora (Noreen) M. Lebens, 79, passed away peacefully Saturday, February 09, 2008, surrounded by her loving family. Noreen was born in Chicago May 23, 1928, and was raised in Dublin, Ireland. She was a loving mother to five children. She worked at Shawn's Back Door for several years as both a waitress and then the manager. She then worked for more than 10 years at the Lucas County Title Company before retiring. Noreen was very active in the community, volunteering for Meals on Wheels, the American Heart Association and the March of Dimes. She was also an active member in St. Patrick's of Heatherdowns. She will be remembered by those who knew her for her kind, giving nature and her wonderful cooking and baking, especially her lemon bars and chapello cake. Noreen leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Karen Vaughn (Willie) and Joyce Lebens, both of Toledo; three sons, Joe (Jeanne) of Burlington, CT, Brian of Chicago, IL and John (Cheryl) of Dublin, OH; four grandchildren, Alicia Jones of Toledo; Sean, Ryan and Logan Lebens of Dublin; four step-grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Noreen's family is eternally grateful to the staff of Elizabeth Scott Community for their care, compassion and friendship to Noreen during her eight years in their care. Friends may call at the Bersticker - Scott Funeral Home, 3453 Heatherdowns Blvd. At Byrne Rd. Friday, February 15, 2008, from 7-9 p.m. with a Scripture service to be held at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services will begin at the funeral home Saturday, February 16, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. followed by the mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Church. Private Interment. The family suggests tributes in the form of contributions to the Alzheimer's Association.

Dear Karen,Joyce,Joe,Brian and John, We are so sorry to hear about your mother. I hope you will remember us, we lived next door to you in Toledo on Sunnylawn. Our kids and you guys all played together and I was friends with your Mom. Our name is Way and our kids are Jeff,Kathy,
Diana, Chris, Steve, Tom and Robert,who we adopted, he is bi-racial. We want you to know that our thoughts and prayers are with you. We can't come. We are living in Florida now. Take care and love each other. Love, Mr. and Mrs. Al Way.
