Paul G. BRENDLEN

BRENDLEN Paul G. Paul G. Brendlen, age 94, of Maumee, passed away Monday, August 22, 2011, in his home. He was born July 2, 1917 in Toledo to Alfonse and Eugenia Brendlen. He and his late wife, Anne were the proprietors of the former LaNan Salon of Beauty in Maumee for many years retiring in 1979. He also was employed with the Maumee School System as a bus driver and custodian. An army veteran of World War II serving in the 13th Airborne Division, Paul was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Maumee, the Knights of Columbus and the Maumee American Legion. He loved the outdoors and hunting and was an avid fisherman. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anne Brendlen. He is survived by his daughter, Nanette (Robert) Contat; grandson, Corey Contat; niece, Marge Wertz; nephew, Damien Pfleghaar; and dear friend, Sherrill Sattler. There will be no visitation. A memorial mass will be held Thursday, August 25, 2011 at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church, Maumee. Interment will be private. The family suggests memorials to St. Joseph Council 11370 of the Knights of Columbus, c/o St. Joseph Church, 108 W. Broadway, Maumee, Ohio 43537.
