Peter Toth Obituary

TOTH Peter James Margaret Rose "Pete and Marge" Pete Toth, age 86 and Marge Toth, age 82, both of Northwood, passed away Sunday, July 1, 2007, due to injuries sustained in a car accident. Pete was born August 31, 1920, to Imre and Mary (Kovacs) Toth in Toledo, Ohio. He graduated from Macomber High School. Pete served our country during WWII in the US Army touring 3 1/2 years in the South Pacific. He then attended the University of Toledo for four years. Pete worked as a machinist for DeVilbiss before retiring. In 1975 he and Marge were married. Pete loved to bowl and bowled in leagues at the Glass Bowl and Toledo Sports Center for many years. Marge was born March 6, 1927, to John and Anna Tornai in Toledo, Ohio. Marge worked as a nurses' aid for Mercy Hospital and Riverside Hospital. She volunteered at Garfield Elementary and was a Den Mom for the Boy Scouts. Marge loved sewing and was a member of the Riverside Pastimers, Toledo Embroidery Guild, and the St. Vincent's Mercy Health Partners Volunteer Knitting and Crocheting Circle. Together, Pete and Marge were members of the East Toledo Seniors Center and the Hungarian Club. Pete and Marge are survived by their sons, Bob Folk (Darlene), Darrell Meece (Carol), and Robert Ellerbush (Barb), numerous grandchildren and great-grand-children, and special nieces and nephews, Chuck Smith (Jackie), Gloria Zoltanski (Ken) and Cindy Wakefield; as well as other nieces and nephews. Marge was preceded in death by her parents, John and Anna Tornai and sisters, Irene Gerber and Verna Gall and infant brothers, Andrew and Johnny. She is survived by her sisters Ann Oliger of Toledo and Mary Prince of California. Pete was preceded in death by his parents, Imre and Mary (Kovacs) Toth, sisters, Elizabeth Gyurko, Julia Beach, and Dorothy Richard and brother, James Toth. Friends may visit Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd. in Oregon, (419)693-9304, Thursday, July 5, 2007 from 4-9 p.m. Memorial Services will be held in the funeral home Friday at 2 p.m. where the family will receive friends an hour prior to service. www.freckchapel.com

Grandma Toth, you have left me, my children and granchildren over 40 years of many, many loving memories. Each of my 3 sons, your grandchildren - Mike, Marc and Matt, their respective spouses - Lynn, Molly and Lindsay, and your precious great grandchildren - Chelsea, Cory, Collin and even little Holden Elliot, have fond and humerous memories of many precious hours spent with you, their loving Grandmother.
