Raymond Geiser Obituary
Raymond L.
Raymond L. Geiser, 88, died Saturday, October 19, 2013, at his residence in Toledo, Ohio.
He was born in Monclova, Ohio to Walter and Gertrude (Knudel) Geiser on Friday, August 28, 1925.
Ray proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII, and was a member of the American Legion Post# 553, VFW Post# 2898 and the Lucas County Burial Corp. For over 18 years, Ray participated in 2,649 veterans burials, most of them by playing Taps on his bugle.
He is preceded in death by his parents; beloved wife of 54 years, Mary Louise (Marylou) Geiser (2005); 6 brothers, and 4 sisters.
Surviving are his loving children, Nancy (Leslie) Patterson and Paul (Jane Haigh) Geiser; grandchildren, David Geiser, Todd Geiser and Alice Patterson.
Friends may call at the H.H. Birkenkamp Funeral Home, 3219 Tremainsville Road, Toledo, Ohio 43613 on Thursday, October 24, 2013, from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m., where services will be held on
Friday, October 25 at 11:00 a.m. Interment services will follow at Toledo Memorial Park, Sylvania, Ohio.
Memorial contributions to the VFW Post# 2898, 3925 W. Alexis Road, Toledo, Ohio 43623 would be appreciated. Online condolences may be given at

I am so sorry to hear about Ray's death. He was such a good friend to my Dad--especially during my father's final illness 10 years ago. They were in Burial Corps and VFW 2898 together.
God bless all of you and keep you--knowing what a special man your Dad was!
