Richard Isbell Obituary

Richard "Izzy" Isbell

Richard L. Isbell, 85, of Walbridge, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, December 27, 2020, at Genacross of Toledo. He was born on February 4, 1935, in Paulding, Ohio, to Hiram and Nellie Isbell. Richard was a graduate of Olney High School and worked as a switchman for C.S.X. Railroad until his retirement. He was an avid sports fan who enjoyed watching the Detroit Tigers, Toledo Mud Hens and Toledo Walleye.

Richard is survived by his children, Garry Isbell, Cathy (Steven) Hanson, Laurie (Rudy) Vasquez, and Bradley (Valerie) Isbell; grandchildren, Garry II, Nikki, Brooks, Bobbi, Kellie, Harleigh, and Cooper; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Madison, Jackson, Halle, Garry III, Diem, Liam, and Lucas; and his brother-in-law, Bill Burgess. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Erma; brother, Robert Isbell; and sister, Darlene Burgess.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 2, 2021, at Lake Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to any little league organization or team of your choice or to the Alzheimer's Association.
