Richard G. Janes

December 23, 1934 - November 26, 2022

Richard G. Janes, a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, passed away at Treasure Coast Hospice on November 26, 2022.

He was born in Toledo, Ohio, on December 23, 1934, to Godfrey and Gertrude Janes. He was married to Barbara Mohler on November 19, 1979, in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.

Richard received a Bachelor of Business Degree from the University of Toledo in Toledo, Ohio, and was a member of Theta Chi Fraternity. He was also a member of Pershing Rifles, and Scabbard and Blade Honorary Fraternities. He did his graduate work at Ohio State University.

He proudly served his Country in the United States Army and was honorably discharged as a Captain. While in Columbus, Ohio, he was a member of Sertoma, (Service to Mankind).

After spending 35 years with the Telephone Co. Yellow Pages, he and Barbara retired to Hutchinson Island, Florida, where he became President of Condominiums in both Ft. Lauderdale and on Hutchinson Island, serving as President at the Regency Island Dunes for over 19 years.

His beloved wife Barbara, four children, eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren survive him. Children, Richard and wife Elizabeth Janes of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, Linda Janes and wife Kelly Linstedt of Columbus, Ohio, Michael Janes and wife Carrie of Eugene, Oregon, Georgia Slater of Asheville, North Carolina; brother, Robert Janes and wife Sharon of Swanton, Ohio, daughter, Elizabeth Auer, predeceased in 2017 and granddaughter, Danielle Dixon-Andrews predeceased in 2013.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Central Catholic High School, 2550 Cherry Street, Toledo, Ohio, 43608.
