Richard J. Phillips

PHILLIPS Richard J. Richard J. Phillips, age 79, of the Point/Shoreland Community, died Wednesday, June 14, 2006, at his residence. Richard was born June 13, 1927, in Toledo, Ohio to Carl and Mary (Kowalski) Phillips. Richard was an electrical engineer; he owned and operated R. J. Phillips Co. for 15 years, retiring in 1989. Richard served his country proudly and his nation is grateful, in the United States Army during World War II. Richard belonged to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, River View Yacht Club, American Legion and Dean Horton Post 108. Richard was preceded in death by his parents and his loving wife, Corinne. Left to cherish Richard's memories are his children, Rick J. (JoAnne) Phillips, Becky R. (Rick) Fodor; grandchildren, Joshua (Amy) Fodor, JoEllen Phillips, Rich (Pam) Phillips and Tom Phillips; sister, Doris Ann Hannigan; great-grandsons, Joseph Grossman, and Aaron Fodor; special friend, Doris Bronson. Visitation will be held Sunday, June 18, 2006 from 6-8 p.m. then on Monday, June 19, 2006 from 2-8 p.m. with scripture service at 7 p.m. at David R. Jasin Funeral Home, 5300 N. Summit St. (419-726-1583). Prayers will begin in the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 20, 2006 then Mass of the Christian Burial following at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Father Gerald Chmiel officiating.
