Rita Batoha Obituary

BATOHA Rita R. Rita R. Batoha, age 85, of Defiance, OH, passed away Sunday, March 22, 2009, at her residence. She was born June 14, 1923 in Defiance, OH, to Edward M. and Alfretta C. (March) Kunesh. She married Walter Batoha on May 16, 1942 and he survives. Also surviving are sons, Daniel J. (Nadine) Batoha of Destin, FL, James E. (Shelley) Batoha, Defiance, OH; grandson, Eric Aschemeier; 2 great-grandchildren, Brittany and Tanner Aschemeier; and 4 sisters, Inez Giesige of New Bavaria, OH, Martha Wagner, Donelda Royal and Arlene Iler, all of Defiance, OH. Rita was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Mary Lee Aschemeier; grandson, Jay Aschemeier; sister, Madonna Limpach and brother, Virgil Kunesh. Rita was a homemaker and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and it's Altar Rosary Society. She was a volunteer for the Red Cross. Other memberships included CLC, American Legion Auxiliary, DAV Auxiliary, Czech Dancers Polka, and American Czech & Slovak Dance Club. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 24, 2009 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. with a Vigil service at 7 p.m. at Mast-Mock-Hoffman-Henenkrath-Clev-enger - Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance, OH. Funeral service 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Defiance with Father Tim Kummerer officiating. Burial Riverside Cemetery, Defiance, OH. Memorial contributions may be made to the Defiance County Hospice Caring Way and/or to St. Mary's Catholic Church. www.mastmock hoffman.com
