Rita Lewis Obituary

LEWIS Rita J. Rita J. Lewis, 72, of Oregon, Ohio passed away Saturday, September 19, 2009, at Bay Park Community surrounded by her family. Rita was born in Toledo, Ohio on April 18, 1937, to James S. and Helen J. (McLaughlin) Thompson. She was retired from the Bell Telephone Company as a long distance operator. She was a member of Hope Community Church. Surviving are her children, Valerie (Bruce) Hofbauer, Jeston (Pamela) Helton II, Linda (George) Canady, Peggy Lewis, Donna (Larry) Lesley; grandchildren, Cristopher, Elisabeth, Kimberly, A.C., Angela, Tara, Jessica, Terry, Kaylyn, Kyle, Kody, Kristen, Josiah, Jacob, Faith, Hope; great-grand-children, Hannah, Nathan, Cory, Katie Lyn, Harmony, Zachary, Makaila, Alexis; brother, Robert Thompson; sister, Evelyn (Tom) Becker; sister-in-law, Jean Thompson. Rita was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Bill and Rowland Thompson; sister, Dona Walton; sister-in-law, Eleanor Thompson. Visitation will be held in the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Monday from 2-5 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. and where her funeral services will held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. Those wishing to make an expression of sympathy in Rita's memory are asked to consider Hope Community Church. Rita's family would like to express their thanks and gratitude to Dr. Bommana; her other physicians; the nursing staffs at Heartland of Oregon and Bay Park Community Hospital for the love and care provided to Rita. www.egglestonmeinert.com

I am so sorry to hear that your mom passed!!! I worked as her aide at heartland of oregon for a little over a year and cared for her very much. i know that she was loved always seeing her kids, grand kids, and even the great grands dropping in to see her. i remember her daughter and son telling me that i have a lot of patience...she never stopped talking about her family and i just want to let you know she was loved and will truly be missed...tania (toledo, oh)
