Robert E. "Bob" Sr.



Robert E. "Bob" Gose Sr., 72, passed away Wednesday, June 11, 2014, at his home in Walbridge, OH. Bob was born May 20, 1942, to Charles and Catherine (McLaren) Gose in Toledo, Ohio. He worked 25 years at the Chrysler-Jeep assembly plant until his retirement in 2001. He was also joint owner of the former Rapids Food Market, a family-owned grocery store in Grand Rapids, Ohio.

Bob's charm was his straight-forwardness; the ability to tell it how it is. He was well-known for his ability to accurately handicap horse races. He loved convertibles and felt a car was not complete until it had a pair of "fuzzy dice" hanging from the rear view mirror. However, his main love was his family, especially his grandchildren. He was simply a good man who will be deeply missed.

Bob is survived by his sons, Robert (Julie Carlson) Gose Jr. of Greenville, NC and Steven (Jill) Gose of Lansing, MI; brother, John (Jeanne) Gose; sisters, Joyce (Buck) Harties, Hazel Charles, Minerva (Dave) Heath, Mary (Ray) Munoz, Eva Nagel; son-in-law, Michael Howick; grandchildren, Katherine, Bailey, Lou, Lily, Jack and Kate, and blessed with numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by parents, Charles and Catherine; daughter, Amy Howick; brothers, Oscar, Fred, Walter; sister, June.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, June 24, 2014, at St. Aloysius Catholic Church located in Bowling Green, Ohio at 11 a.m. with Father Mark Davis officiating the services. A Celebration of Life will be hosted directly afterwards in the school hall. An Interment Service will be scheduled at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Bowling Green, Ohio at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Northwest Ohio Hospice or St Aloysius Catholic Church.
