Robert W. Ondrus, age 87, of Monclova, Ohio, passed away on May 28th surrounded by his family. Bob was born on September 24th, 1937, in Toledo, Ohio, to Walter and Lucille (Luce) Ondrus.

He attended Waite High School and Owens College earning an associate's degree in Computer Science. He worked at Ondrus Hardware Co. until enlisting in the Army in 1958. Served as a member of the First Cavalry 20th Artillery Division from 1958-1960 during the Korean War. When he came back, he gained employment as a Programmer/Systems Analyst for Questor Corporation.

He married Christine F. Biernacki in 1962, at St. Anthony church. He enjoyed vacationing in Mexico, golfing, bowling, and spending time at the family cottage on Bear Lake in Hillsdale, Michigan. He also enjoyed Thursday night dinners with the Crystal Ridge neighbors.

On September 13th, 2022, he went on a Veteran's Honor Flight to Washington D.C., with his eldest son Mark. He enjoyed visiting all the war memorials.

Bob is survived by his loving wife, Christine, of 63 years; sons, Mark (Shannon), Michael (Debra), and Robert (Lyn); grandchildren, Eric (Michelle), Alex, Marlaina, Natalie, and Nathan; great-grandchildren, Hudson and Emmett; sister, Shirley Jaros; sister-in-law, Catherine (Scott) Barnes; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Family and Friends will be received at the Newcomer Funeral Home, (SW Chapel) 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo, on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 5856 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo. The family would like to thank the Parrish Health Systems Hospice and Lakes of Monclova Assisted Living Facility for their exceptional support and care. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
