Bob was hired by the City of Sylvania Police Department July 30, 1973, where he was promoted to Sergeant, June 3, 1985. He served proudly for 35 years before retiring March 28, 2008. My heart broke when I heard the news of Bob's passing. He was one of my best friends for nearly 30 years. Altho we did not see each other very much since I moved south we always stayed in touch and it was like no time ever passed. He will be missed by so many. God's speed dear friend. Know you were loved.

It was a sad day when I visited Bob a few days before his passing. I haven't seen Bob for a few years since I moved to Fla. Bob and I were close friends for at least 30 years. A lot of memories of the things Bob and I did over those years will remain with me forever. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.

Bob and I were good friends 50 years ago. He would come to our house on Silica Drive on Sunday mornings to go to Oak Openings with my brother Bruce, Dad and me, after my mother died. I deeply regret not reconnecting with him to say what great memories he gave me.

Lyndy,
I am not sure if you will remember me, we use to walk before dawn when we lived at the apartment on Sylvania Ave. I am so sorry for your loss I know there are no words that can ease the pain you and his family are feeling right now but please know how much we all care. You two were so perfect together and you always seemed so happy. I will keep you in my prayers!!

I remember a little boy with curly blond hair. We used to play together in the backyard on Austin St. Blowing bubbles, running around the pear tree, having lots of adults take our pictures while we played. I have a vague memory of when your sisters were born. I do remember them in their cute little pink snow suits. You were about 3 or 4 when you left me and moved to Sylvania. I lost touch with you and now I find out I lost my very first friend. To your family, Bob, I send my deepest condolences.

My precious Lyndy and Bob's loving family ~ getting to know (and love) Bob has been a great life changing experience. It hurts to knowing how much he will be missed in your lives, but there is joy in remembering he did all he could to communicate his love and loyalty to those who meant the most to him. May the peace that only God can provide bring you comfort in the days to follow. You are all in my heart and prayers!
