STRAUB Robert G. Nov. 17, 1950 - Feb. 4, 2008 Robert G. Straub, age 57, of Hobe Sound, Florida and formerly of Perrysburg, Ohio, died suddenly Monday, February 4, at his home. He left us with many stories to tell. Rob was the son of H. Gordon and Virginia Straub. He is survived by his daughters, Katherine Straub of Lexington, Kentucky and Robyn Straub of Perrysburg. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Judy. There will be no memorial. "The fear of death follows from a fear of life. A man who lives fully is prepared to die at any time."

You girls have our deepest sympathy. Your Father was a great guy and a good friend to our family.David and I drove truck for HIGHWAY SERVICE in Genoa, at the same time Rob drove for them. This was in the 1970's. A little before your time. He will greatly missed by our family.

I was so sorry to read about the
loss of your dad. Rob was a great
guy! We had good times together.
(1967--1971) He had a lot of friends in Perrysburg.

This may be by accident a second entry.....However, I remember your Father from Maumee Valley. The quote submitted in his obit in THE TOLEDO BLADE is precisely how I remember him. That said, I liked him, thought he was a kind person, and felt there were layers undisclosed. I am sorry to learn of his early death. In all, just basic fond memories of his persona. I however did not know him well in my MVCDS '69 class, but rather just observed and "saw" alot in him.

The quoted words seem right from Bob's mouth......as I remember him (when he was at MVCDS). I am very sorry to learn of his early death. I did not know him well at all, but from what I observed and from what I recall - he was a neat guy, with alot of potential.
