Robin Straw Obituary

STRAW

Robin Lynn (Bullis)

Robin Lynn (Bullis) Straw, 52, of Delta, passed away due to a sudden heart attack, on Friday, September 12, 2014, at Fulton County Health Center in Wauseon. Born on January 27, 1962, in Toledo, she is the daughter of Ethel N. (Tressler) Bullis and the late Eugene M. Bullis. She married Robert Rodney Straw of Swanton on October 10, 1981.

Robin was an avid reader and could always be found with a new book in her hand. If Robin was not reading a new book, playing Farmville or rooting on the Pittsburgh Steelers, she could be found spending as much time as possible with her grandchildren. Robin enjoyed the company of her numerous family and friends. You could always count on Robin to be ready with a hot cup of coffee and a story to share. In Robin's younger years, she could be found volunteering as a firefighter and EMT in her local station of Delta Junction, Alaska. Robin loved all animals, but especially her birds, tame and wild alike. Robin was a cancer survivor and had suffered from heart disease for many years, but always came through it like a champ. You never heard her complain about her illness, and looked forward to the life she was living. She truly lived life to its fullest and will be missed by many.

Surviving are three daughters, Randi (Bullis) Sliter and husband Scott Sliter of Sherwood, Marrie (Straw) Sanders and husband Travis Sanders of Fairfield, PA, and Ashley Straw and friend Avery Coakley of Gettysburg, PA; stepdaughter, Bobbi-Rhae (Straw) Coats and husband Matthew of Perrysburg; seven grandchildren, Lillian Coats of Perrysburg, Rose Sliter of Sherwood, Alex Sliter of Sherwood, Monica Hoot of Sherwood, Taylor Wiles of Fairfield, PA, Ellie Sliter of Sherwood, and Emily Hoot of Sherwood; mother, Ethel Bullis; and brother, Robert Bullis and wife Sheila of Bakersville, NC, and mother and father-in-law, Betty and Clarence "Bud" Sumner.

Robin was preceded in death by numerous aunts and uncles.

The family will receive friends on Monday, September 15th from 2-8 p.m. at Weigel Funeral Home, 204 Chestnut Street, Swanton (419.826.2631). Her funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 16th at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home, with Rev. Donna Stutzman officiating.

Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Grand Rapids, Ohio.
