Ronald Charles Obituary

CHARLES Ronald Joseph Ronald Joseph Charles, 70, formerly of Waterville, OH, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2009, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg, OH. Ron was surrounded by loved ones as music played when he completed his journey on this earth. He was born February 11, 1939, in Lima, OH to Kenneth E. and Frieda M. (Ammann) Charles. Ron was part owner of Grand Rapids Food Market from 1975-1993. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Waterville, OH, Grand Rapids Masonic Lodge #289, Triune Chapter #344 O.E.S., Maumee Elks and Chrysler Retirees Group. He was also the organist for Grand Rapids O.E.S for 27 years. He worked for Chrysler for 31 years in management, retiring in 1998 and previously as a tool and die maker at GM for over 9 years. He married Hazel (Gose) July 22, 1961. She survives along with daughters, Ronda (Alan) Moore, Wendy (Tom) Gray and Brenda (Bill) Dodson; grandchildren, Courtney, Brittany and Kaleigh Gray, Marissa Moore, and Cole and Elise Dodson; brothers, Eugene (Marge) and Gerald (Diane) and sister, Linda (Tom) Quertinmont. Friends and family may call Wednesday, April 29, 2009 from 2-9 p.m. at Peinert Funeral Home, 7220 Dutch Rd., Waterville, OH. An O.E.S. service will begin at 7:30 p.m. followed by a Masonic Service. Funeral Services will be Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, Waterville, OH with additional visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Steve Bauerle will officiate. Entombment will follow at Highland Memory Gardens, Waterville, OH. The family suggests giving memorial contributions to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or Zion Praise Team. I long to see you from across the room, feet up in the recliner, arms stretched behind your head, watching the races. Your ragged and worn moccasins dangle from the edge of the footrest. The smirk across your face is silent words upon my heart. You've run your race, completed your journey here and will continue on to your next. You were the best husband, brother, friend, dad, and papa anyone could have ever asked for. We are so blessed to have been a part of your life, and to know you continue to watch over us. Love you always, my papa. www.peinertfuneralhome.com
