Ronald Dossat Obituary

Ronald William Dossat

Ronald William Dossat, 83, of Toledo, Ohio joined the Lord on Thursday, May 18, with his loving family at his side. He was born July 19, 1933 to the late Sidney and Martha Dossat and was the oldest of 8 children. Ron survived his wife, Patricia Ann, married 53 years. He is survived by his three children, Cindy Klosterman married to Kevin, Danny Dossat, and Peggy Vanderman married to Daniel; brother, Russ (Ann) Dossat; brother-in-law, Jim Kujawa; sister-in-law, Claudia Dossat; many nieces and nephews and granddogs. Ron's siblings, Rosalie, Bonnie, Barbara, Ray, Rick and Randy preceded him in death. Ron served our Military and was stationed in Germany during the Korean War.

Ron was, is and will always be so much to so many, but above all Ron was a committed servant to the Lord. He will always be remembered for his strong faith, incredible attitude, his boisterous laugh, great sense of humor and his terrible singing voice. He enjoyed golfing, hiking, camping, and competing in marathons and triathalons.

He lived a life of purpose, virtue and dedication to the betterment of those around him. Each and every person with whom he had contact is better for having known him. Ron was friend of Bill W's for 58 years.

His tireless spirit and boundless curiosity for life and adventure took him from Toledo to Alaska on numerous occasions, to seek his roots in Louisiana, to Peru, Guatemala, India and Europe. His drive, desire and commitment to fitness, powered his legs to run, peddle, and swim his body and soul countless miles training and racing.

Ron was a constant reminder that because of faith, spirituality, fellowship, friendship and love of family, the world was a beautiful place, and to embrace every day we are blessed to be given.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday, May 26, 2017 in the Thomas I. Wisniewski Funeral Home, 2426 North Reynolds Rd. (419-531-4424) where a Scripture Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in Little Flower Catholic Church.

Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery with Army Funeral Honors.

I knew Ron for many years, but was just getting to become friends over the last 6 months. If he did not answer phone when I would call he always called back. When I heard of his passing I remembered he had shared with me how he was going to enjoy his visit with family in Florida and Alaska. We always shared a good laugh when I sat near him at meetings. Ron will surely be missed. My wife Linda and I send are sincere condolences.
God Bless

My prayers and sympathy go out to Ron's family. So glad I got to meet and talk with Ron over the past three years. Glad I got to hear Ron's "Story", it made me realize what a wonderful life can be had without alcohol.

My condolences to your family. Cindy and Peggy, please know that while I only spent a short time with you and your dad at the Cleveland Clinic, it was a privilege to meet you all and to experience your compassion, concern, kindness, and love for each other. I know that you will forever cherish countless memories of your life with your dad ... and I will treasure the hour I was given to spend with this lovely man who "kept the doors open" for me.
I am grateful to have met Ron and will not soon forget the spirited and spiritual man in this photo!
