Ronald Melton Obituary
Ronald L. Melton, age 69, of Swanton, Ohio, passed away peacefully, with his family at his bedside, Monday, July 17, 2017, at The Toledo Hospital. He was born June 3, 1948 in Lima, Ohio to Ava (Melton) Goin. Ron was a graduate of Waite High School.
Ron was a very proud U.S. Army veteran and served during the Vietnam War. He worked as a custodian for a cleaning company. Ron was a member of the Swanton American Legion Post #479 and the National American Legion. He loved watching wrestling and old western movies. Ron could name all actors and actresses that played the roles.
Ron will be greatly missed by his brothers, Buddy (Tori) Goin, Van (Angela) Goin, Keith Goin; sisters, Vonda Colling, Christina (Orlando) Mendoza, Donna Goin, Christy (George) Pelland, and Beth (Bob) Logan; numerous nieces and nephews; beloved dog Puuch; and his friends through thick and thin, Tom Magrum and Howard Black.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ava; stepfathers, William Bowers and James Goin; brother, Steve Goin; brother-in-law, Michael Colling; and sister-in-law, Hilda Goin.
Family and friends may visit Thursday, July 20, 2017, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home, 204 Chestnut St. in Swanton (419.826.2631). Funeral Services will be held on Friday, July 21st at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home with Rev. Donna Stutzman officiating. Interment with military rites will follow at South Swanton Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Charles coronary ICU or the Toledo Hospital cardiac ICU. The family would like to give a heartfelt thank you for the efforts to save Ronnie.
