Rose Kerosky Obituary

KEROSKY Rose Louise On early Monday morning, July 27, 2009, Rose Louise (Recktenwald) Kerosky passed away peacefully at the age of 86. Rose was living at the time in Ashtabula, Ohio. Rose was born on February 27, 1923, to Alphonse and Laura (Fiscus) Recktenwald in Fremont, Ohio. She graduated from St. Joseph's Catholic High School in Fremont, and was a long-time member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Fremont. She lived most of her life at 1217 Garrison Street in Fremont, in the house where she was born. On May 17, 1952, she married Ted Kerosky, a native of Republic, Pennsylvania, and the two spent their married life and raised their family in Fremont. They had three sons who all attended local Catholic schools. Ted was an employee of the U.S. Postal Service. Rose was a housewife much of the time, but also worked at various jobs in town. During her years in Fremont, Rose was an active member of the Knights of Columbus auxiliary, the Eagles Club and the Moose Club, and with her husband, the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW). Later in life, Rose lived in Jefferson, Ohio and Ashtabula, Ohio, where she was involved in the local Catholic church, the choir, and the local community. Her husband, Ted, predeceased her in 1989. She was also predeceased by her aunt Marie Recktenwald; her brother, Francis Recktenwald, and her sister, Joanne (Recktenwald) Fehlhaber. Rose is survived by her sons, Michael (MaryAnn) Kerosky of Anchorage Alaska, Nicholas (Joan) Kerosky of Ashtabula, and Christopher (Mary) Kerosky of San Francisco, California. She also is survived by her eight grandchildren, Ben (MacKenzie) Kerosky, Thad Kerosky, Sara Kerosky, Andrew Kerosky, Zachary Kerosky, Jacob Kerosky, Sophia Kerosky and Samuel Kerosky. There will be visiting hours at Keller-Ochs-Koch-Mason Funeral and Cremation Service on Friday, August 1st, from 9 am to 10 a.m. The funeral mass will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Fremont at 10:30 a.m. followed by burial at St. Joseph's Cemetery. There will also be a memorial service in Rose's memory on Saturday, August 2nd at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Jefferson.

Mike and Mary Ann, I'm sorry we can't be with you, but you're in our thoughts and prayers. Sadly, Marsha's father was killed in an accident on Monday, and we have the visitation today (Friday) and the funeral tomorrow.
