To the family of Mother Ruth Chatman memories are the gift of God that death cannot destroy. I will hold close to my heart the memories of sitting around her kitchen table absorbing her wisdom. She was a true spiritual advisor and mentor to all of us in the City Wide and we will miss her dearly. She opens her mouth with wisom and in her tongue is the law of kindness. Proverbs 31:26

My condolence to Winona, Tony, and Regina, in the passing of your mother, Mrs. Ruth P. Chatman. She was an "awesome" educator, community activist, and "village mom". May your days of sorrow swiftly become reflective days of fond memories, of fun family times, you all had together with her, as this season of mournful loss progresses onward. May God keep each of you strong!

I was sorry to hear that Cousin Ruth had passed. When I was growing up in Toledo, I use to see her often. I remember when I was 16 and she picked me up each day to go to my 1st office job (working as a typist in the summer school office). Yvonne and my brother Tim were good friends. I know the deep sorrow of losing a parent near the Holidays . . . . I lost my dad on Thanksgiving Day 1998 and I still think of him often, especially on Thanksgiving. But, believe me, God will get you through and you'll see your tears turn to smiles when you think of her.
