Ruth L. (Shasteen)

Ruth L. (Shasteen) VanEtten, age 92, passed away September 26, 2015. She was born August 10, 1923, in Toledo to Charles and Ida (Navarre) Shasteen the youngest of 9. Ruth married Lowell F. VanEtten on October 4, 1947, and had 3 children.

She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Lowell and daughter, Barbara (Charles) Andrychowicz of Pewaukee, WI; as well as 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her son, Lowell F. (Red) VanEtten Jr. and daughter, Kathy Rich.

There will be a memorial service on Saturday, October 3, 2015, at 12 noon at Memorial Lutheran Church, 3215 Douglas Road, Toledo, Ohio. The family requests memorials to Memorial Lutheran Church, Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Rd., Suite 300, Jacksonville, FL 32256, or charity of your choice.

I knew Ruth and Lowell since I was a teenager(Ruth worked with my mom Dorothy Dombrowski). So sorry to hear of her passing, my prayers are with Lowell and the family. She will continue to watch over you.
