Ruth Wisniewski Obituary

WISNIEWSKI Ruth Marie Francis Ruth Marie Francis Wisniewski, age 79, passed away peacefully on the Feast of St. Joseph, Monday, March 19, 2007, at Sunset Village in Sylvania. She was born in Toledo June 1, 1927, to Tufie and Amelia (Theep) Francis. On May 14, 1949, she married Richard F. Wisniewski, who preceded her in death in 1991. Ruth worked for the Toledo-Lucas County Health Department, and at Wickford Foods. She was a member of the Toledo Kirby Club, enjoyed her Bunco Club of 50 years with her grade school friends, and was active in the Rosary Altar societies of both St. Joseph Church in Toledo, and St. Joseph, Sylvania, where she was currently a member. Ruth loved to sing, and was a member of the Jerry Francis Singers. Her "biggest hobby," though - and her great joy - was enjoying her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by sons, Ken (Mary Ann), Frank, Mark (Debbie), Keith (Linda), Kevin (Candy), and Rick (Palma) Wisniewski; daughters, Mary Ann (Tom) Stelmaszak and Kathy (Gary) Glowski; 29 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren; brothers, Donald (Carolina) Francis, and George (Kathy) Francis and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Ruth was preceded in death by brother, Gerald (Jerry) Francis, and sister, Judith (Judy) Francis Kromenacker. Family and friends may visit on Friday from 2-8 p.m. in the Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114 E. Alexis Rd., where a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will begin on Saturday at 9:45 a.m. in the funeral home, and continue with the Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church, 104 W. Broadway, Maumee. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the nurses and aids in Barlow Court at Sunset Village, and to the staff of Hospice of Northwest Ohio. The family suggests contributions in Ruthie's memory to the Monastery of the Visitation, 1745 Parkside Blvd., Toledo, OH, 43607 or to Sunset Village, 9640 Sylvania-Metamora Rd., Sylvania, OH 43560, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
