S. JoElla Hunter

Mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, best friend, adventurer and dancer was called to Heaven March 17, 2022. She was born June 1943 at Wolf Lake, Indiana to Lloyd and Helen Woodworth. She was married to Jerry for 57 years and had 4 children who adored her. She retired after 34 dedicated years as General Manager of Co-op Toledo Credit Union in 2005.

She never saw an adventure she wouldn't try: water skiing until 60, horseback riding until 76 and zip-lining/repelling for her 70th birthday. She loved to ride roller coasters and took all her children and many nieces and nephews on their first ride. She was lots of fun and always up for a road trip. She was fortunate to visit many beautiful places like Hong Kong, California and Hawaii. To her children, she was not just their mother but their friend and confidant.

She leaves behind her four children, Kristy Tobias(Tim) of Murrells Inlet, SC, Amy Kargiotis (Dimitrios) of Worthington, OH, Jenny Segura(Tony) of Toledo, OH and Eric Hunter of Fort Mill, SC. JoElla had 12 grandchildren, Lindsey, Jordan, Chloe, Peri, Julian, Tate, Rosa, Gina, Hunter, Elijah, Lucia and Sylvie. In addition, she is survived by her 4 brothers, sister and brother in-laws and many nieces and nephews.

We are thankful for the gift of our family, the love, respect and so many great memories. Visitation will be held at the Walter Funeral Home, 4653 Glendale Ave. on Tuesday, March 22nd from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Funeral service on Wednesday, March 23rd at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior at Church of the Cross, 1750 Eastgate Rd. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Toledo Zoo and Cherished Friends at Ahava.
