Sandra Walter Obituary
Sandra K. "Sandy" Walter, age 82, of Sylvania, passed away peacefully Monday, February 13, 2023 surrounded by loving family at home. She was born on September 4, 1940 in Tiffin, Ohio to Park and Nathalie Anderson.
Sandy always had pets. At a point where there was a void, she reached out to find a dog that did not shed. Sandy found an English bulldog, which did shed, but she was in love regardless. Soon after puppies and prize ribbons, Sandy was off and winning at shows, from Madison Square Garden to Cobo Arena to small county fairgrounds. Sandy and her dogs were competing and generally they were winning. Her dogs were recognized for achievement by the American Bulldog Club. Her biggest thrill came when Purina called and arranged for her and champion "Jazz" to fly to Hollywood to film a commercial. "Jazz" appeared on television and billboards and advertisements. Sandy had friends all over the United States and Canada.
She was active in everything connected with her children. Sandy's smile, spirit and caring nature will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 64 years, Bob; sisters, Janet Comer and Jane Hemminger; daughter, Kimberley Walter; sons, Kraig (Annette), Todd (Claudia) and Jon (Michelle) Walter; granddaughters, Connor, Nathalie, Danielle and Kelsey; grandsons, Robert, Jeffrey, Jonathon and Ryan; great-grandsons, Sebastian and Edwin; nieces, nephews and many dear friends.
Services will be private.
Donations may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or the Toledo Humane Society.
