Sergio Valentin Obituary
Sergio Valentin, Jr., age 56, of Monclova, passed away April 15, 2022. Sergio was born July 18, 1965 in New Haven, CT to Sergio and Carmen (Rodriguez) Valentin.
He lived a great life traveling from state to state before his family settled in Northwest Ohio. Sergio served his country in the United States Army. Once he returned from the service, he attended and graduated from the University of Toledo. Sergio's next big adventure was moving to Texas, where he started a new group of friends.
He was the life of all parties and the center of everyone's attention. Sergio was a cult of personality. We "laughed" all the time. He was the first Puerto Rican on the moon. He was a great storyteller and builder. Faith was a fundamental part of Sergio's life and he shared the message of Christ. Sergio's greatest love and pride was his family. He was comforted with the knowledge that God had blessed his family in so many ways.
Left to forever cherish his memory is his loving wife of 28 years,Tabetha L. (Overmyer) Valentin; children, Sergio III (Heather), Alejandro, Cristiano (Sara), Isabella (Cody) Franklin, Emilio (Victoria); grandchildren, Marcella and Giovanni; future grandchild 2022; siblings, Wanda (Edwin) Robles, Sandra, Leslie (Steve) Cagua; second mother, Irene (Manuel) Rivera; uncle, Esteban (Eva) Rodriguez; cousins/siblings by heart, Manuel Kevin, Norman, Dalila (Dennis), Anthony (Jeni) Valentine, Janell Phillips, Irene (Larry) Stull, Bryan (Julie) Mehlow; and beloved nieces and nephews, Maria (Tim), Edwin Jr., Juanita (Tommy), Lorenzo, Emmanuel, Eric; Godchildren, Mariano and Madison; and so many more he loved.
Sergio is welcomed in Heaven by his parents; brother-in-law; aunts; uncles; and cousins.
The family will receive guests Sunday, April 24, 2022 and Monday, April 25, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900). A Rosary will be said on Monday, April 25, 2022 at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. A Funeral Mass will begin at St Clement Catholic Church, 3030 Tremainsville Rd, Toledo, OH 43613, on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
