Shannon Lee

Shannon Lee Cawthorn, age 38, passed away Saturday, December 28, 2013. She was born on September 25, 1975, to Robin and Terri (Lucas) Cawthorn. Shannon graduated from Northview High School. She was working as a veterinary technician at Country Side Animal Hospital. Shannon had a real

passion for animals and had dedicated herself to them since she was 16. Her true light of her life was her daughter, Hannah.

Shannon is survived by her daughter, Hannah Cawthorn; parents; sister, Jennifer and her husband, Robert Mapes, and grandmother, Dorothy Cawthorn.

Friends and family may visit on Thursday from 3-9 p.m. at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd.) where services will be held on Friday at 10 a.m.

Interment will be at Toledo Memorial Park. Online condolences may be made at

Shannon was an amazing person. I have known her for years and worked with her when i first gratuated from tech school. I remember being at the emergency clinic and watching her and knew i wanted my vet tech skills to be as awesome as hers. So i followed her around and asked her a million questions. She answered everyone with kindness and enthusiasm. Over the years we have kept in contact and commented on some crazy shifts in The ER. I recent ha the chance to meet Hannah , what an amazing little girl. My deepest sympathies to the entire family for your loss. she was an amazing person and we were all blessed to know her.

Such fond memories I have of Shannon growing up, playing softball and driving Mr. C crazy with our antics. That smile, her laugh and tender heart will be dearly missed. Shannon was truly beautiful both inside and out. Rest in peace dear friend.

I worked with Shannon for several years as a vet tech at the Animal Emergency Clinic. She was the most energetic person I have ever met. She even once quit a job at another clinic because they didn't keep her busy enough. She was so much fun to be with, great at her job, and kept the place running smooth. I left the clinic in 2007 but kept in touch with Shannon through facebook. She shared with us the joy and struggles of being a single parent and sorrow when she lost her old friend Bucky. She touched the lives of all her knew her and we are deeply saddened by her death. I pray for your family daily for the hurt to heal.
