Stephen Horvath Obituary

HORVATH Stephen Joseph Jr. Stephen Joseph Horvath Jr., age 75, of Toledo, passed peacefully at his home on Tuesday, September 23, 2008. Steve graduated from Central Catholic High School. He then went on to join the U.S. Army. After the service he worked at Libbey Owens Ford Plant 8, retiring after 30 years. He also worked as a security guard at the Toledo Museum of Art and volunteered at the Society of St. Vincent DePaul. Stephen married Mary Theresa Katona in 1956. He was a God fearing, hardworking, proud, devoted, Hungarian man. Stephen's life was his family, especially Sunday dinners when we all spent time together. Stephen greatly enjoyed his Upper Peninsula, Michigan home where he spent time with his children and grandchildren fishing and enjoying nature. Stephen is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary Theresa Horvath; sons, Stephen (Theresa) Horvath, Eli (Beth) Horvath and Anthony (Tara) Horvath; also his daughters, Mary (Russell) McArthur, Anita Horvath, Elizabeth (David) Dunn, Theresa (Raymond) Szparagowski and Angela (Michael) Lamantia; his grandchildren, Matthew, Seth, Leon, Eli, Joseph, Jenna and William Horvath, Heather, Mellissa, Kristina, Amber, Cailey and Russell McArther, Amanda (Dan) Pawlinski, Mary, Sarah, Hannah, Rachel Dunn and Rebecca, Rose, Raymond, and Nicole Szparagowski. He also had one great-grandchild, Hailey Pawlinski. He is also survived by his sister, Theresa Shockey; sister-in-law, Margaret Balasz and special nephew, Richard Bacher. Stephen was preceded in death by his parents, Stephen and Elizabeth Horvath; sisters, Barbara Horvath, Mary Horvath, Helen Bacher and Elizabeth Lesko and sons, Leon Horvath and Joseph Horvath. He has been ill for the last several years of his life. Now, he may have peace in the Kingdom of Heaven. Friends may visit Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd. in Oregon (419) 693-9304, on Thursday, September 25, 2008, from 4-8 p.m. where a Rosary will be prayed at 4 p.m. Funeral services will begin in the funeral home on Friday at 9:45 a.m. and continue on with the Mass of Christian Burial in St. Stephen Catholic Church at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Dear Theresa, I want to extend our deepest sympathy to you and your family. This includes my sisters Vera Mae, Evelyn, Marilyn and our youngest brother Joe. Three of us live in FL, Joe in Virginia and Vera in

Although we did not know Steven at all, we still have the last name and I believe we have met Anthony already if he is the one that owns Horvath Construction, my husband owns Horvath Roofing, Inc.
