Thelma Wood Obituary

WOOD Thelma M. Thelma M. Wood of the Point Shoreland Community passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2009, in Point Place Care and Rehabilitation Center, at the age of 82. Thelma was a homemaker and devoted her life to her husband and family. She will always be remembered for all of her love and great sense of humor. She will be greatly missed by many. Thelma was preceded in death by parents, Chester and Zannie Elizabeth (Seals) Scalf; husband, Charles Ray Wood (1984); granddaughter, Brandi Sue Wood; brothers, Harold and Everett Scalf and sisters, Doris Strickland and Shirley Kiefer. Left to cherish Thelma's memory are her loving children, Chester R. (Mary) Wood, Scott Lee (Marcie) Wood, Janet (John) Murphy, Kaye (Joe) Burnep and daughter-in-law, Vicky Wood; brother, Elmer Scalf; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Family will receive visitors in the David R. Jasin Funeral Home, Inc., 5300 N. Summit St., (419.726.1583) on Sunday, May 17, 2009, from 2-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the Funeral Home on Monday, May 18, 2009, at 11 a.m. with Pastor David Rushton officiating. Interment will be in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Those wishing to make memorial contributions in Thelma's memory are asked to consider the Alzheimer's Association. Condolences along with photos and fond memories may also be left for the family at www.jasinfuneralhome.com The family would also like to express their very special thank you to the nurses, staff and residents at the Point Place Care and Rehabilitation Center as well as a very heartfelt appreciation to nurse Joanna, friends, Edith and Rita and the Erie West Hospice for their devotion, love and care during this time with Thelma.
