Thomas Hackler Obituary

HACKLER Thomas Jay Thomas Jay Hackler, age 59, of Toledo passed away Sunday, March 2nd, 2008, at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. Tom worked for Capital Tire for many years. A long-time, active duty reservist with the Air Force National Guard, Tom worked as a Munitions Officer with the 180th Maintenance Squadron until retiring in 2005. He was a member of the Sylvania Moose Lodge #1579, the Elks Lodge #53, VFW Post #3013, and American Legion Post #646. Left to cherish his memory are his significant other of 10 years, Janet Adams; father, Lowell Hackler; daughters, Heather (Villamor) Cruz, of Saugus, CA and Andrea (Andrew) Slomowicz, of Toledo; son, Todd (Darcy) Rowland, of Toledo; grandchildren, Rebecca, Benjamin, and Ruby Cruz, Hannah, Abigail, Audrey, and Jace Rowland, and Alexander and Paige Slomowicz and brother, Jeffery Hackler, of Florida. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mildred (Fryberger) Hackler and sister, Christine Anderson. A Memorial Celebration will be held at the Reeb Funeral Home, 5712 N. Main St., Sylvania, on Friday, March 7th, 2008, at 7:00 p.m. followed by Elks and Moose services. Friends are invited to gather after 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest contributions in Tom's memory be made to the American Cancer Society.
