Thomas St. John Obituary

Thomas Lee St. John

Thomas Lee St. John, age 57, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at Community Hospice in Fort Worth, Texas. He was born in Oregon, Ohio on June 1, 1964 to Lester and Nancy (Donley) St. John.

Thomas served his country as a former member of the Marine Corps. He served his community by constructing commercial buildings, having advanced through his career from a brick and stone mason to a supervisor and more recently as the Chief Field Engineer for Linbeck, his employer for the past 20 years.

Tom's hobby and natural gift was woodworking. He loved nothing more than to tinker in his shop while listening to country music. Everything he built was made with love, creativity, attention to detail, and remarkable craftsmanship. His work was admired by all who had the privilege to see or receive his creations.

Tom loved his family deeply. He was a proud father and grandfather who loved to hear stories about his two grandkids' activities and treasured visits with them. He taught his children the value of a strong work ethic, the importance of never giving up, and the power of kindness.

Thomas is survived by his children, Amanda (Shane) Hughes, Carly St. John, and Jared St. John; grandchildren, Cody and William Hughes; Cindy Perron (mother of Amanda and Carly); and Cynthia St. John (mother of Jared). He is also survived by his brothers, Tim, Keith, and Kevin; and sister, Tammi. He was preceded in death by his parents; as well as his sister, Vickie Chambers.

A small service will be held for immediate family members. To allow others an opportunity to grieve, celebrate, and express their condolences (while still in a COVID environment), a memorial Facebook page has been set up in his name, Thomas L. St John (https://www.facebook.com/thomas.l.john).
