Todd Kear Obituary
Todd R. Kear, age 76, died at Hospice of NW Ohio on December 17, 2024. Todd was born in Toledo on September 24, 1948, to Richard J. and Jean Kear. He graduated from Whitmer High School in 1966, and attended the University of Toledo. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force in hospitals in Wiesbaden and Ramstein, Germany. He used those skills to begin his career at Mercy Hospital Labs. Todd later became the director of Information Technology at Path Labs.
Todd cherished the time he lived on the family farm in Cygnet, Ohio. He was happiest in the woods, or fishing on the lake. One of his joys was being a father.
Surviving are his children, Kyle (Britani) Kear, Kara (Amado) Mota, Rachael (Jacob) Smith; 9 grandchildren; his former wife, Ann Kear; his sister, Jana (Greg) Soltman; special niece, Alyssa Steelman; and brother, Brent Kear. The family wishes to thank Todd's longtime friends, Joe and Diane Timar.
Friends may visit at the Coyle Funeral Home, 1770 S. Reynolds Rd., on Saturday, January 4, 2025, from 1:00- 4:00 p.m., with a prayer service and sharing of memories beginning at 2:00 p.m.
Interment will be private. Memorial donations may be given to NAMI of Toledo, or St. Charles Borromeo church. Please leave a condolence message at
