Vivian L.



Vivian L. Sumner, age 96 of Perrysburg, OH, passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2015, at St. Luke's Hospital in Maumee, OH. She was born on February 11, 1919, in Youngstown, OH to Michael and Mary Ann Kane who emigrated from Ireland. She and her 7 older siblings were the first generation born in America. Vivian married Clarence W. Sumner and he preceded her in death on December 31, 1967. She had worked at the former Schreier's Greenhouse for over 20 years and was a member of the Rossford Methodist Church and the Rossford Women's Club. She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister whose home was always the center of activity for holidays and birthdays.

Surviving are her daughters, Nancy (Frank) Loomis, Judy (Bill) Bowerman and Mary Ann (Jim) Frankforther; son, John Sumner; daughter-in-law, Janet Sumner; grandchildren, Ginger (Chris) Pacer, Jenny (Casey) McCarthy, Becky (Matt) Terry, Rachael Frankforther and Allison Frankforther. Also surviving are 7 great-grandchildren.

Vivian was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Robert Sumner, and grandson, Erick Loomis.

Family and friends may visit at the Sujkowski Funeral Home of Rossford, 830 Lime City Rd. on Friday, October 9, 2015, from 4 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2015, in the funeral home beginning at 11 a.m. with Pastor Robert Ball officiating. Interment will follow at Historic Woodlawn Cemetery in Toledo. The family suggests contributions in Vivian's memory be directed to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or to the Rossford United Methodist Church.
